Lovely spring day for a run in

Well, Lenore still wasn't entirely happy with her Ashworth employment but at least it grated a little less this week. That was the way these things went sometimes, wasn't it? Tomorrow she might be fed up again but for now, it was hard to argue with all expenses paid and free rein. In fact, she rather thought she'd take off for Greece tomorrow. ( Read more... )

Things had been... honestly Ed tried not to think to much about life as it was in the present. Luckily tailing other people made it pretty easy to not dwell on your own life as much as someone elses. Currently the man in question was getting his hair cut and Ed was pretty confident that he could take a break for a second to grab a cup of coffee.

Of course, living in the wizarding world, there were only so many places to get a cup of coffee and of course he'd happen to choose the one that had Lenore inside.

Lenore's presence snapped him back into his own life and without realizing it he made a very audible "Oh."

Well Lenore couldn't help it if she knew all the good coffee spots now could she? Or if she'd maybe dragged a friend or two to them all over the years. You were bound to run into someone eventually ( ... )

Well she didn't seem... hate filled today. That was possibly a good sign. Seeing Lenore definetly made Ed very very aware of himself and his own life though and this translated into a way more clumsy and awkward Ed then anyone had ever seen.

He debated with himself about just walking up and sitting down and along the way totally stumbled on his own feet and ended up very ungracefully and remarkably landing in the chair next to her.

"There goes smooth." He admitted to himself.

Lenore was working very hard not to notice whether Ed had decided to leave or not and had her eyes glued on the page. She'd hear the door if he left though right? Another few moments of silence and maybe she'd allow herself to look up, see if he was still in line. Or staring at her. Either way. She'd have to get up and talk to him, join him at his table or something. Apologize.

And then there was Ed at her table.

"Oh!" Needless to say, Lenore was caught by surprise at the sudden stumble, though her own shock made a decent cover for any embarrassment on Ed's part. His admission barely registered as she caught her mug (though it probably wasn't in any real danger of falling to begin with). "Um," for a moment she could only stare, coffee still clutched in both hands against the table, "Hi."

Very smooth.

"Are you...alright?"

Ed chuckled a little, "Free rein? Yep, that sounds like the Lenore I know."

The barista/waitress stopped by again and poured more coffee into Ed's mug and he gave a quick "Thank You" before she disappeared. "Even at the ministry it seemed they couldn't really control you very well either."

That drew a smile out of her. "Mm. Well," Lenore looked over her mug slyly, "it's more fun when it's a challenge. Or when there's someone to be bothered by it." Rebellion lost some of it's appeal when there was no authority to speak of.

She savored her coffee for a moment in silence, people watching. "You might have been right about the service," Lenore observed.

There was a raise of an eyebrow but Ed kept his thoughts to himself as he hid his smile by taking a sip of his coffee.

She mentioned the service and he'd honestly forgotten what he'd said when he had been awkward and not thinking while trying to start a conversation. "Oh?"

"I think she likes you," Lenore clarified. Anyway, Ed's attractive qualities were off the table as topics right now so she moved on.

"Seriously though. Greece? Or maybe India. I haven't been there. Not counting the brief stop last summer." There had been a lot of those. And, coincidentally, a lot of places she had to avoid now. Or people. Still, the world was a big place. There was always somewhere to run to. "And I'm entirely monopolizing this conversation now. If you mind, by all means step in because otherwise I'll just keep filling the silence for you." Lenore smiled as she said it though and it was clear the woman didn't mind at all. It was nice to have someone to ramble to.
