All the awards go to Kurt for his various speeches in this. And I really hope you'll write how he tears Blaine a new one for his meddling. Blaine has no right ti meddle in this. And yay for the teachers.
I don't know... I think that, even though Blaine was out of line, he had a point. I believe his opinion was valid, and his actions understandable if not the most well-thought-out or appropriate. Especially since the reason he was so angry is because this kid really hurt the guy he loves, and Blaine himself was powerless to do anything. He also was not present for much of the resolution/semi-forgiveness process. Not being there for the resolution of a conflict you helped someone through makes it really rough to get past your anger or protectiveness of that person. I'm sure we've all been there, I know I have.
Gosh, I do love me some angry, speechifying Kurt. As for Blaine, well . . . my goal in writing this was to put out a ton of different viewpoints about what happened with the whole Karofsky situation and let the reader decided how they felt for themselves. I think the whole thing was just *so* messy and screwed up that the characters were all bound to have different takes on it, and I wanted to let that happen without injecting my own opinions into it. So I'm glad it elicited a passionate reaction from you! :)
I am so loving this series, and was really pumped when I saw you had posted more!!! I absolutely love your characterization of basically everyone, and I was SO GLAD to see Kurt call Will out on his shit (seriously, I really hate Will sometimes). If only that would actually happen on the show!
Also--seriously, perfect song choices. All three were just fantastic. What I wouldn't give to see ND do Mumford and Sons!! Finn would be wonderful but I'd especially like to hear it in a lower register, maybe Artie? The Mumford lead singer has such an incredible, evocative voice, makes it hard to try to hear the songs in someone else's!
Thank you! I'm actually a little surprised they haven't done any Mumford and Sons; they were pretty big last year, although I guess their big hit was "Little Lion Mam," and you can't really fake your way around the F-bomb in the chorus of that one, so.
You're right that, musically, Finn probably isn't quite the right voice to sing it; Artie's got the right range, but I think his voice lacks that slight harshness to it that the song needs. I guess Puck would be the closest? But I think I just think his voice sits lower than it actually does. It's a fun thought experiment, though; one of my favorite parts of doing this series has been picking the songs and think through who would sing what. :)
Oh man, this latest addition just makes me ANGRY because Will and Finn aren't this boss in canon, AND THEY SHOULD BE. Also, I love the way you've ultimately handled the Karofsky thing, and your Kurt voice is AMAZING. Also, Blaine standing up to Karofsky, ugggggh, my HEART <3333333
Thank you so much! I admit, it has been very cathartic to basically stick my fingers in my ears and go "LALALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU" at canon, particularly for the characterizations of Will and Finn. :D
Thank you! Man, I just love it when they all stick up for each other, y'know? Makes me happy. :D
Karofsky, alas, is out of glee for good. I really don't think it's particularly his scene, anyway, but I feel like he's probably started hanging out with Puck a bit, and maybe Sam when Mercedes isn't around. I had an arc planned where Finn and Puck took him to a gay bar, but I've been changing things up a little as actual season three's been going on so things aren't *too* redundant, and that's one of the things that's ended up on the cutting room floor. I still think it happened in this 'verse, I'm just not writing about it. :)
