Reading the Dune series by Frank Herbert --- good, deep, well-written, and goes beyond science fiction novels. Well, what about our very own Belyayev? :) Each and every of his sci-fi novels is mostly about the human being and problems of moral nature.
Asimov - I, Robot.
Clarke - Childhood's End
Sheckley - some of his novels.

Sure! Belyaev, Bulychev are great. And one more -- Ivan Efremov, "Lezvie Britvi", how could I forget him?
