tBBT: The Adulthood Corollary 1/1, PG-13

I am totally digging this fandom.

Title: The Adulthood Corollary
Author: Len
Summary: Penny decides to move her life in a more “grown-up” direction. Not all change is good, though. More of a friendshippy piece, Penny-centric.
Author’s Notes: I was inspired - god, it hurts to admit this - by a lolzcat in a quantum box. And my friend’s spouse who ( Read more... )

big bang theory, fanfic, the adulthood corollary, friendship

Ha! Condescending Banana Slugs would be 1) a great band name of the indie variety (does the HP universe have emo indie bands, do you think?) and 2) a terrific insult.

Glad you enjoyed it!

I don't have words. I'm legitimately sitting here, trying to put my love for this into words and I can't.
I love that the boys treat her right, I love that she tried to be a grown-up but found out that being a grown-up isn't all it's cracked up to be.
ALSO: I particularly love this because it was a friendship fic with Howard and Raj included!
So, in short, I find this to be a win of epic proportions.

Aw, thanks! That means a lot. I'm glad you enjoyed it! I love the group dynamic between Penny and the boys when they're not being all weird/hitting on her. :)

Aw, this was so endearing! I remember my quarter-life crisis and discovering that being 'grown-up' didn't have to mean having a stick up my bum.

Thanks! And I know, right? I play more video games now that I'm a post-25er than I did when I was younger. Part of the fun of acting silly when you're older is that you don't get called "immature", you get called "eccentric". lol. :)

And then Sheldon found a way to bring down Alan's company in retaliation for hurting Penny both physically and emotionally.

No? Oh well. In my head he did :P

This was really sweet, and totally believable as well. Loved the Monty Pyton reference :D

Bwhaha! There may have to be an epilogue. I'm sure Sheldon either has the know-how, or knows someone who'd like to flex their hacking muscles, to bring down Alan's IT company. Oooh, it's fiendish!

I heartily endorse this plan of action, and would love to see it in print. Wonderful story!

And someone else who's seen Last Supper!

*does happy dance*

Awwww. Alan and his friends were so not real grown-ups. And him accusing her of being a socialist, like that was a bad thing?! LOL.

I love that Howard wasn't completely despicable. Sheldon giving him a strike for hitting on Penny was great. :) All the guys pitching in once the saw she was injured was just really great. Showing how much they really care about her.

Thanks! Yes, aparently Alan later got a call from the 1950s later that night and had to give back their social misconceptions. :) Yeah, I was surprised as anyone when Howard gave Penny a straw and tried to reign in the behavior. Of course, he really doesn't want to have to take Sheldon's class again. :)
