After the premiere in Sydney a couple of nights ago, the Trek cast have beamed down to Kiwiland to repeat the whole red carpet gig in Auckland (still too far away for me... *cries*). The local media are all over it because of Kiwi!McCoy... and probably because NZ doesn't get a lot of glitzy Hollywood-type events with Real Hollywood Stars ( Read more... )

Yeah, I agree with you about Simon and Wendy. It is great that they work together.

The girl who sent that email replied to my YouTube video of the interview saying how embarrassed she was having that read out in front of Karl on national TV. *giggle*

Oh noes, seemingly close and yet too far away from you! *sympathises* A couple of peeps will be getting to see it in Berlin on April 16th with parts of the cast. Guess who will be awfully distracted all day? ;-)

I didn't know Karl Urban was Kiwi! That's cool... I wonder if there might be real Kiwi!McCoy AU stories in the future. *g* Great, now I am getting a craving for kiwis (the fruit).

I guess we Kiwis are used to Auckland getting every cool event that comes to NZ (a ⅓ of the population lives there, after all), but that doesn't make it any easier on the rest of us, really.N *sadface*

Karl, apart from a few local things he did years ago, hardly ever gets to play a Kiwi, so it's no wonder people don't know he is one. I don't know about a Kiwi!McCoy fic, but several years ago I thought it might be cool to introduce a Kiwi crewmember in a Trekfic.

I was kinda annoyed by the one Kiwi reference Trek canon had to offer - apparently the whole country is a penal colony...? Thanks, Voyager.

Oh, man. I love Simon. I would've loved to have seen him doing the Vulcan salute.

Simon is awesome. And some of the things he says and does just scream Closet Trekkie!, I swear. *g* And I'm not just talking about the Vulcan salute (which he did very well).
