I have just discovered the most amazing thing!! So, I was searching (and am still) for a song I read about on Wikipedia - apparently the filker Julia Ecklar set the lyrics of one of the poems written by Susan Cooper for her Dark Is Rising Sequence to music. So, I went and bought the CD with "Tribbles" and "He's Dead, Jim" because honestly, I couldn't not. My one splurge for the month - and hey, it was being sold through Amazon, which is less sketchy than the retailers they "broker" for, occasionally.

And in happier news, I DID find the TDIRS song online! Okay, so it's like a 30 second clip of a supposedly 3min 36 second long song (if I'm reading this notation right) - here's the clip! http://www.musesmuse.com/ut/Sushi/TheDarkIsRising.mp3

googling "Julia Ecklar" and 'the dark is rising' got me some great results! :)

I really love her stuff whether she sings it herself or it's covered by others. I first heard of her at SCA Bardic Circles where some of her songs were popular to perform. She has a really broad range of stuff from setting Kipling's Pict Song to music to Carmen Miranda's Ghost is Haunting Space Station 3.
