So I started playing Aion, dhc10 plans to join once he gets back from the field, and several of the folks from his old Soldiers of Legend guild are joining us for aerial Gnostic pixel-killing goodness. As has started to become my habit, a brief review ( Read more... )

If it takes off, I suspect that'll be a "new feature" added some ways down the line.

Hmmm, was forum comment from beta time so can't verify if its still there on release... but somewhere back in the Asmo capitol city was a Deva of... vanity or something appropriate that let you change your appearance. I think the location was somewhere on the roade down past the arena.

I looked at it and for some reason it reminded me of sort of an animu city of heroes/villains.

Hm, I never played CoH/V so I can't really compare. I remember being told the character creatio in it was really fluid, so I'll agree there, but thats about all I know.

Besides, NCsoft is Korean, so it'd be... K-mation? K-ani? :P

The default mapping for the mouse wheel was a rotate the camera to view yourself face on or back. Not quite the same as camera staying where you rotated it too, but likely was included as a 'check your 6' command for PvP.

I fought with the game for a couple nights. Launcher sucks horribly at downloading and isn't using anything so fancy as bittorrent to ensure that it can resume or that the downloaded content is valid. But after some work (and 20GB of downloading, my 60GB monthly cap is gonna suck this month) I have forced Aion to bend to my will. I eventually found a link to download the ncpatch file that the launcher was trying to get and downloaded it with wget at 1.2MB/s unlike the 150KB/s that he launcher was doing.

took 20mins and made a priest on lumiel, Khade already lvl3

Yay! I've gone back to my priest too, planning to make her a cleric even though they seem to be really common at this point. The survivability is incredible. She's partway through Ascension, and I'm really tempted to try to finish that up over lunch break today... :P

Not being able to add people offline is really annoying. At this point I'm about to have to make an offline list to just keep trying when I'm on >.<
