I haven't been very productive at all the last two months..... because gaming has sucked up all my time. LOL. Then again, I *have* done a reasonable amount of writing this year, so I guess it cancels out. XD
Same, but that was largely time I had been using to draw/paint. Now that conventions are on a downturn, I'm going to have to try to reclaim an hour a day for writing and finishing some collective works.
Maybe we need to start a comm where we post our original works (under f-lock) as a means of staying accountable? What y'all think of that?
Hm. Sounds like an interesting idea...though, I don't think I really have anything to contribute since most of the stuff I do isn't really original.
What about a comm where we just share stuff we've been working creatively on? Maybe we can do challenges and stuff too -- any medium imaginable, just something to be creative with.
I always wanted to have a little online book club for us, but I know I won't have the time, nor will most of us on the 'net -- but I keep thinking about something that can bring us more together and where we can be on similar pages with for discussion.
I'd love to have something like that. I agree with Leila though -- maybe with a more general focus... though I personally would like to stay away from fanfic because it really does not do me any good lately. But a general place for creative output sounds really good.
Productive breaks are lovely when they happen, aren't they? Perhaps all the lovelier because they happen so infrequently...
(I want to say I'll read your story once it goes up, but I have this insane fear of unconsciously incorporating what I read into what I'm currently writing [and god that looks so much fucking crazier on screen than it sounds in my head], so I probably won't. : ( But I'm sure it will be all made of awesome and win!)
It feels amazing. Usually my breaks are full of me working and reconnecting with friends. I never get me time.
Heh. I often worry about borrowed writing, too...but I guess I kind of gave up on it. I figure nothing I write will be 100% original and it'll be "okay" if I end up taking bits unconsciously since I'll always end up making it my own thing in the end...either I'll have mangled it to make it unrecognizable, or I'll have twisted it to give it a new feel...so that's how I came to terms with it.
The story's nothing too eventful but I like it because it's mine and whatever was in my head turned out completely different on paper in a surprising way. Whether anyone who reads it likes it or hates it or accuses me of copying someone else, meh. It's my own therapy. Other people have little to do with it. :3 (Tho, I suppose it'd be different if I was writing for publication...but eh. I'll worry about that when I get there. XD)
