There's a difference in Windows between backing up your files (usually everything found in "My Files" - my documents, etc.), and backing up the entire system, which would include the programs and settings and shit. Imagining the computer would include all the programs. Whichever version you chose, remember that you should keep the CD key codes to any programs you might need to install, or else learn how to get around it.
Yeah, easiest way is to buy a second hard drive for your PC. You can then get imaging software to create an image of your hard drive to your backup hard drive... hard drives are sooo cheap aswell... 75gb wont cost much.
