YIKES!!! Seems like there's nowhere on earth that doesn't have some type of problems whether it's poverty and hunger or weather related craziness or war and shit. :( Hope the tornado doesn't get you! P.S. what happened to phil? I tuned in to the last 2 minutes of AI and he wasn't on there when they were kicking chris off.
Have survived tornado/windstorm/whatever. I - this is bad - I was greatly concerned that they were going to take away Idol for weather coverage. I would have thrown something at Fox, if they had.
Phil was eliminated also, but they had him out before the show was half over. Fastest elimination ever! They basically split them into 2 groups of three, and Phil was with Lakisha and Melinda. Melinda was called safe, and then, after much delay, so was Lakisha. There was confusion, then, because no one knew if that meant Phil was out, or if Phil was also safe, and the two bootees were from the other half (Blake, Jordin, and Chris), but no - it was Phil.
weird that they booted no one last week and 2 this week. just seemed stupid and superficial. like they seemed generous at first booting no one but really that just meant that person would leave this week.
Yeah, it seemed all generous last week, but the reality wasn't so much. And, to be honest, I felt like so much of last week was a ratings stunt, and had nothing to do with helping others, that - I don't know, that whole IDOL GIVES BACK! rubbed me wrong. I'm cynical and jaded.
But they had to boot two, since they used the whole vote thing as a fundraising method. Not using votes from last week would piss off a lot of viewers, who'd feel like they wasted four hours voting (easier to just donate cash). And much more dramatic to eliminate two people than one.
Sadly, "weather" is not an excuse for us. More along the lines of "Although the weather is deadly and anyone with an ounce of common sense would not be out in it, we're going to have class/lab/the exam. It's up to you to decide if you want to attend or be absent and not get credit." Reminds me of highschool, where we had a policy where if you missed 3 days or less in the year, you'd be exempt from finals. People would show up to school with everything from the flu to strep throat to pneumonia, just so they could get their exemptions, merrily spreading their germs around to everyone else in the process.
