What is wrong with this building, anyway? I call false advertising!

It sounds like one of the cleaning charms must have malfunctioned. As for what's wrong with the building, it's a classic example of how magic can lead to more problems than doing something manually if the person casting the spell doesn't know what they're doing.

We always had magic going around in our house as children, and we didn't have all these problems.

Oh yes but Wishes do not generally change the truth, unless you are fortunate enough to come across a pair of Dandelions with a spider's web running between them beneath a willow tree in the moonlight after a summer Thunderstorm. And even then you must be facing Southeast when you blow them.

Honestly, this makes no sense. Being magical is not enough of an explanation.
