Fic and stuff

Holy crap, LIFE. I'm currently 100% on the fence re: whether this job is going to kill me or make me stronger. I'll report back in two weeks on that one. But so far I am loving the teaching part when I have my brain together enough that I can make words. Being back in the classroom is so much fun! So yay to that, and more details (including why I ( Read more... )

FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK. Your writing, man. The family smush and cuteness and the sex and just JACK AND RENEE and askgjhajdkdajkgha fuck I miss them and love them so much and your beautiful descriptive writing with your details and your ability to show their relationship and everything about how much they mean to one another SO PERFECTLY. God, why weren't you on the S8 writing team so you could tell HoGo to stuff all his bad choices and insert your perfect ones instead!!!!!! The way you get inside Jack's head here is just so spot on- I mean, it always is, but it never ceases to amaze me every time. ALSO IT'S SET AT CHRISTMAS TIME WHICH WILL ALWAYS AND FOREVER BE MY FAVORITE THING ( ... )

CHEESY FAMILY!FIC, THE BEST. Jack's unable to say no to anyone and Renee thinks they should do it on the couch, the quickie and the not-so-quickie, whatever's going on with Renee at work and the thing she's not telling him, dude--I just love your fic.

Also, you should watch Orphan Black! One day when you have free time again. I quite enjoyed it, not so much in an I want to go tumblr out all of my feelings right this instant sort of way but in a this is a hell of a lot more entertaining than I expected a show about clones to be sort of way. Have fun/godspeed with the last few weeks of your crazy busy job things!

Aw, thanks dude! Also I will absolutely admit to being glad that you picked up on the part where she wasn't telling him something, because it makes a lot more sense in the context of the entire ludicrous au, but I did want it to be clear there. Wow, what I just said probably made no sense. I'm probably hallucinating from reading too much about international relations and the Open Door Policy. In any case, I'm delighted that you enjoyed my ludicrous trip down squashy family fic lane. It's such a happy place there, oy ( ... )

Too hot here too, so I escaped to the Mall and went for a dip in the harbor. That lowered my core temperature, if only temporarily. It is going to be cooler and rainy Monday, and that's a good thing.

I've watched a couple of eps of Orphan Black Not sure if I love it, but I'll watch a few more and see if it takes.

Saw Much Ado About Nothing Great fun, but I don't know what to make of Nathan Fillion's alarming chubbiness. I'm shallow.

Yeah fic! I guess Renee's daughter would be Kim's sister. Half-sister. Who is younger than Jack's granddaughter.

I used to think about a budding romance between Prescott O'Brien and Teri WhateverSteven'slast name is. Unless she is Teri Bauer? Oh, the things the canon doesn't tell us.

I always get so amused by the idea of you just taking a dip in the harbor. I think it's awesome, but it's such a foreign idea to me. Wow, I could have used a swim today, no doubt. It does look a little cooler here tomorrow -- fingers crossed!

Oooooh, tell me more about your Orphan Black thoughts! I really want to hear, because it's always such a debate with me whether or not I want to start watching something. And you saw Much Ado, LUCKY. Is Nathan Fillion pudgy in it? Huh. I can't keep track of what's going on with his weight, but I do remember some people who watch Castle being alarmed at his weight gain a while back.

I think a lot of people ship Prescott and Little!Teri, seriously. I mean, it could totally happen, right? Thanks for reading:)

Alas, I don't think OB is a sow for me. That dosn't mean it isn't good, so give it a try.

Have you heard of Gillain Anderson's new show The Fall? It starts tonight on bravo.

5 years ago, you would have to be insane to swim in our harbor. But our sewage treatment system now makes it swimmable sometimes but not always. Bacteria levers are monitored. There's a treatment sub-station at the end of my street. When it was built there was much NIMBYing about it. But it looks like a normals building and doesn't smell. They have to put these things SOMEWHERE as long as people like me make deposits into the sewage system and then like a nice urban beech. Especially on a weekend like this.

Do you have Air Conditioning? I have a couple of fans which are barely adequate.

I was just wondering what you didn't like about it, because I get a skewed view on tumblr, where it is beyond all the rage. And yeah, I have heard that Gillian has a new show. Is that the one with Archie Panjabi? I love her too, so I guess at some point I might have to check it out.

I think it's awesome that they've made the harbor swimmable. We have a lot of lakes around here, but mostly they kinda freak me out because I grew up swimming in the ocean and I'm not used to all that gunk at the bottom.

Nope, no ac for us. Honestly, for all my whining, it wouldn't be worth the energy it would consume, because it's only uncomfortably hot here for maybe a month out of the year, total. We have window fans for the kids, and that has made a HUGE difference in their rooms at night, which is really the biggest thing -- cooling down enough to sleep. I just truly loathe this weather and I'm so ready for it to move on!

Having seen all 10 eps of Orphan Black, I have to say that some of the things I like about it, you might not like. For one, there's no real ship, because the primary relationships that are given developments are between the clones, Sarah (the protagonist) and her adoptive brother, Felix, and Sarah and her daughter. There's a lot of conspiracy stuff in there, and without getting into why without spoiling, the ships on the show are all just a little bit squicky due to consent issues. The plot, at least in S1, is mostly driven by Sarah trying to figure out what the hell is going on/trying to keep her own secrets from spilling out, and aside from the child, Cosima is the only one I can think of on the show who isn't one of those complicated gray characters that I love. (Cosima is just adorable and I love her ( ... )

Do you mean consent issues because the person involved doesn't always know who he or she is fucking? WELL THAT WOULD BE AWKWARD ( ... )
