Stolen (as usual) from lowriseflare:
Give me a fic title and a fandom I'm familiar with (optional: and a character or pairing) and I'll ramble at you about how I'd write that story, who it'd be about, what would happen in it, etc., not!fic style.

Also, this poem is just so beautiful and cool, so I'm sharing it here because I love it really hard.

What a lovely poem! ♥

That meme is so cool, but as usual, I'm blanking on ideas D: But I'll be back if I can come up with anything!!!

In terms of entertaining things, have you ever seen this? It was from the Emmys last September, so it's been around a while, but:

I think they're delayed (at least for me, since I just got the notifications for your replies in my email now). Hopefully they'll fix it soon!

Hehehe, you're welcome!!! Gag reels are the best. The Elementary S1 DVD is going to have one, and I can't wait :D

Here's Breaking Bad season 3:

Wow, that poem is wonderful. "Although, I admit, I desire,/
Occasionally, some backtalk/ From the mute sky". And the last line, so beautiful. I haven't read much Plath because I'm afraid her poems would be too depressing for me. But this one isn't at all. I went to a lecture about her once, and now every time I hear her name I think of these unforgettable lines from Lady Lazarus (I think it's one of her most famous poems): "Out of the ash/ I rise with my red hair/ And I eat men like air". Chilling.

Okay so you already know I have to pick E/O cuz that's how I roll these days. :) Fic title is tricky. "To become day" sounds cool for a title. Apparently it's an old verb for "dawn". But it's been a really long day, so if this sounds totally crazy please ignore it. LOL.

I love your icon.

I actually don't recommend Plath really, not because she isn't amazing (she is), but because hell yes, she's beyond depressing. I mean this is a woman who killed herself with her kids in the house, so clearly she was dealing with some shit. I can enjoy sad poetry, but a lot of her poetry is very angry and filled with violent imagery. I get enough of anger and violence in the news, so I don't need it in my poetry, thanks. But this one, augh, I adore it so much. I'm laughing though, because when you're an English major, ALL you ever read is "Lady Lazarus" and "Daddy," and they are the fucking WORST. Blech.

Thanks on the icon! It was the result of me trying to figure out layers in PS. I'm halfway there, ahahahahaha.

Not!fic response coming in another comment:)

So "Lady Lazarus" is that kind of poem? I had no idea. Nearly all poems I learned in school or in the two poetry courses I took in university are pretty much ruined for me. I adore poetry, but the academic practice of dissecting a poem into a million pieces in search of the "correct" meaning/interpretation - not so much. Nevertheless these were my favorite courses. You don't often meet people who like poetry in RL. :)

I see such amazing things done with layers in PS. Not sure why it usually looks bad when I try it.

Yes, "Lady Lazarus" is definitely that kind of poem. Since you like the one I put up here, you could also try "Tulips," which is way depressing (I mean seriously all of her poetry is depressing), but I really love that one also. I just don't like the poems where she's all pissed at her dad and men. To me it's just kinda tropey and while her words are awesome, I don't enjoy the subject matter.

I'm not very good with layers tbh, but I have learned more about them slowly. I also wish I understood what people do to play with light in PS. It's fascinating to me when I see certain .gifs on tumblr; I don't know what they put on them as an overlay, but it's so COOL.

Great poem.

24: "In this Twilight how dare you speak of Grace". That's from "Broken Crown" by Mumford and Sons.

Monday.

It's raining, I'm drinking coffee and trying to make myself go to Karate.

The fic title is spasmodic tricks of radiance. And the fandom is BSG.

TELL ME WHAT YOU'D WRITE ABOUT please.

This is a lovely lovely poem and her use of language is so so amazing. Thank you for sharing. And teaching.

I'm really really glad that you like the poem!

I am totally going to do this meme, I swear, but the thing is that everybody responded AFTER my brain had gone to sleep (my own fault for having a brain that only stays awake for five minutes even on good days), so now I have to wait until it wakes up again. But I promise to tell you what I would write:)
