Smoosh! This made my day. Especially the sneaky sneak-in of N and S, because, I saw what you did there. Somehow the detail about the tangled headphone strings just brought it to life and made me see it.

Although I don't think of pumpkin as a Christmas flavour.

Aw, this left me all warm inside. Thank you!

Hand to god, it took me a few minutes to figure out what you even meant about N and S. THAT'S WHAT A DORK I AM. Oh brain, please work. Don't you miss footie pajamas though? I swear that they are so freakin' cute on kids. We have this one pic of S sitting in the middle of the floor in green ones looking like, "WHAT?"

Ahem. What were we talking about? Oh fic! I'm so glad you enjoyed your flight on Shana Smush Airlines. But hey -- didn't I say that pumpkin was seasonally neutral? (Or Jack did, whaever;)

Christmas and my fav OTP just make me happy:) Thanks so much for reading!

*Smooshes as well* I like how you pick this up AFTER the meeting at the airport. Nice.

This was one of those deals where I truly meant to do one-shots, but yet again, my brain made an entire story out of it, LOL. I'm so happy you enjoyed the smoosh though, even if it isn't your favorite season!

Hahahaha. I love Fridays where I just decide to read the whole chain of stories that goes with this Christmas AU. It has made my night SO MUCH BETTER. But I have flailed about those in the past I'm sure, even though OMG I COULD GO ON FOREVER ABOUT HOW IT STARTS OFF THAT SHE CAN'T THINK OF A SINGLE REASON TO SMILE AND THEN NOW YOU HAVE IT WHERE SHE'S FORGETTING THAT SHE IS SUPPOSED TO BE MAKING HOT CHOCOLATE BECAUSE SHE IS TOO BUSY FEELING THE WEIRDLY FOREIGN FEELING OF ANTICIPATION AND SHE IS GRINNING A LOT AND AND AND....

Okay, there are so many things I love about this. The running, the music she's listening to, the puppy nose in the window and the little boys listening to their presents with the damn footie pajamas of adorable and the internal monologue that is SO RENEE about like why is it so damn cold and how she's proud of herself for the run, and LINES LIKE THESE...lines that make me all...."wtf is she ON?" when you talk to me about how you apparently aren't good at writing.

It takes her brain a second to access the word for ( ... )

I made myself laugh when I realized that seriously, I am only a few days short of it being a year from when I posted the first two mini installments of this. WHATEVER. I do mean to finish them, mostly as an exercise in proving I can finish something rather because I think even the people who originally prompted are reading. They're probably like wait, what are we even talking about here? Hee ( ... )

YOU DO HAVE A PhD IN SHOWING AND NOT TELLiNG. YOU DO! I have spoken.

Also, I have Christmas in the room on repeat. GAH.

Well it's weird because I try to write you thoughtful reviews but then it turns out my ONLY language is shipper recap language.

CHRISTMAS IN THE ROOM IS SO GREAT. I want to send T all the dukbokki and yummy things as a thank you, because I adore it so hard. I listen in the car all the time now, and I sometimes turn it on even when I'm working as background music.

Shipper recap language is the best language, wtf? BESIDES I'M SORRY BUT NOT SORRY, IN THE CASE OF JACK AND RENEE IT'S ALL TRUE!

But this... It’s not possible that he’s silent for more than a second, but it feels like a fourth of forever. He sounds both nervous and amused when he says, “I can’t even remember the last time I used that word.” Then he adds, so quiet that it’s hard for her to hear, “I’d like it to be, yeah.” Excitement and terror twist through her. “But if you don’t want to-”

GAH. It's all fumbly and quiet and you ADDED the "I can't remember the last time I used that word" and I LOVE IT because it's so HIM.

Then the part about dessert and everything that's said by the fact that he'd be happy with chocolate ice cream.

Grinning, she watches the glow of the lights on her new tree while she stirs the milk in a figure eight.

Inside her hoodie, her thumb traces the rough corner of Jack’s note, back and forth until it’s bent into a curve.--- GAH. your words are so gorgeous. If I could pay you to write for me all the time, I would do it. That's my dream in all of life.

Thanks for posting. It makes me so happy to see these up.

Well you and Kay are entirely responsible for the fact that I ever made anything at all from that one patch of dialogue, because oi and oi and triple oi with fudge on top. It does make me laugh to think of Jack and Renee trying to do an actual dating thing. I mean, in a weird way, fucked up as S8 was, the way the sex turned out was a much better workaround for them. In my wacky headcanon, they'd be a lot more successful at going backwards than trying to do the standard tango of it all.

BUT YOU ALREADY KNOW THAT.

Basically, thanks for giving me someone to flail to STILL. Because I need it and it's awesome. ♥

Heeeee I think you're so right that they'd be better figuring it out the backwards way.... after already establishing how much and in what way they want and love each other! But it's so frakkin' cute to ponder it the other way around. OMG.

I saw Silver Linings Playbook tonight (also saw Lincoln by accident-ish). I quite liked it. Difficult to watch at times because you know, mental illness isn't a joke, but it also made me laugh a lot. The acting was great.

Lincoln was great, too. Except *spoiler* he dies at the end, so, bummer. :p I'm weird with Daniel Day Lewis because I'm still (years later) moderately traumatized by his character in Gangs of New York, and I'm pretty much always one step away from the fetal position when Last of the Mohicans is even mentioned but damn, his transformation into Lincoln was remarkable. He's such a fucking incredible actor.

I read a bunch of reviews and the scene where Jennifer Lawrence busts into the house to kick Bradley Cooper's ass for not showing up was up on NYT, so I have a vague sense of the tone. I really liked what I saw, but yeah, making movies about mental illness is hard, because they tend to be either really serious productions or to go for the horrible broad laughs. What a stellar cast though, which is one of the reasons I really want to see it.

Daniel Day Lewis is like. Insane. I mean really I think the man is quite mad, and I would never want to act with him (in some life AU where I'm an actor), because he takes method to a whole new level. But it works, and what comes out is some of the finest acting every caught on film. This is one of the reasons I have never watched Gangs of New York. I know myself too well. But Last of the Mohicans OMG. I don't even want to know how many times I've seen that movie. Srsly.

The movie didn't shy away from the serious and the legitimate laughs were really well placed. The thing that bothered me though was actually the other people in the theater laughing at the parts that were clearly not meant to be funny. The scene you saw was definitely one of the best in the movie.

I don't know how you can watch Last of the Mohicans so much, haha. It literally dissolves me into a puddle of goo. Fuck, the first chord of the soundtrack practically makes me convulse. Literally too many feels.

Ugh, laughing at the not actually funny parts. Not cool, man. I have such a hilarious relationship with my Rober De Niro feelings. Like, sometimes I think he is so too much. And other times I adore him. DEEP LIKE THE OCEAN I AM.

What dissolves you into goo about Mohicans? I mean don't get me wrong -- I have a lot of feelings about it. But holy fuck the love story is so beautiful and hot that the rest of it becomes background noise for me. Basically. Perhaps I'm just super shallow, woe. OMG, I got the best Sound of Music icon. I shall have to upload it and use it on you!
