I keep hearing of Bloody Mary but never about who she was. Was she as terrible as they keep hinting? I had no idea that England and Scotland formed together because of a king, but now that I know it makes a lot of sense.

By the way, sorry I took so long reading this...soooo much stuff has happened as of late. (I know I keep saying that but it's true. @.@)

Bloody Mary liked to burn people at the stake if they weren't catholic and her death count was almost 300 people. Which doesn't sound too high, but burning at the stake is one of the worst deaths. If you're lucky you pass out from the smoke before you smell your own feet beginning to cook.

Believe it or not but the nursery rhyme "Mary, Mary quite contrary, how does your garden grow?" is about her.

That explains a lot now...and death by burning alive always sounds like a nightmare.
