Mass Effect fanart: Input needed!

Jul 13, 2011 21:23

Bioware is accepting submissions for a fan art showcase at SDCC (deadline is July 15th), and I thought to freshen up a bit my two Mass Effect images and submit them.

Here's the latest version of the turian sketch from last September:

awesome! I think the turian piece is stronger than the space born, but i think they're both great.

Thanks! I've still got two days, I'll see if I can improve them a bit till then! And find a title for this one too! D:

You should submit something, too! I was thinking of those awesome turian 3d models of yours.

Most likely too late to make a difference, but both look terrific. I like the juxtaposition of warm and cool tones, and the expression on both faces.

Turian has a more dynamic sweep, but Spaceborn has lovelyl lighting and I personally like its Byzantine undertones. I also have a great weakness for those types of quasi-symbolic depictions; a female astrogator is a sine qua non for me.

If the contest permits, you should submit both.

Would the original of Spaceborn be for sale, by any chance?

Thanks, Athena! I've just submitted the works (after a few fixes). Not looking up to getting any prizes, as there is some truly amazing art out there, but I hope they make it into the showcase at least.

As for Spaceborn, since it's digital like all the rest, there's not really an original! I frequently get prints of my work, but I don't sell fan art (can't make money out of someone else's fictional universe or characters!).

However, I can send you personally a high quality print of this piece, if you like. :) In fact I would be happy to do so.

I wish you the best of luck with the contest.

I thought the artwork might be digital... and yes, please! *purr*purr*

Many thanks.

Great then! I'll put it up on Inprnt.com and as soon as it's approved I'll mail you. Since it will ship from within the US, it shouldn't take too long to reach you. :)

(P.S. I mean to submit the newer version, which I just posted here on LJ as well in a new post; if for some reason you prefer the older one, let me know!)
