Do you mind if I add you? Para_Xylene linked me to your mass effect art. :3
you asked to know a little bit about people who add you... i'm a 3d artist for video games, make dolls, i love mass effect and transformers and other sci fi and fantasy properties. i used to pen and paper rpg back when my gaming group was still local. ah... i don't know what else to say!
There's two things that strike me. The first is the lips, they look a little plasticy. I think it's because of the lack of the little vertical wrinkles that people have. Now, it would be easy to go overboard, since I assume you're not going for a lipstick look. So a wet-look specular may not be appropriate. That said, I think a suggestion of them would break the flat look.
The second is I find myself expecting a bit more interaction from the eyepiece. Now, it's not easy to know how it would react, since we don't have much reference for how such a thing is "supposed" to look. But it's illuminated, so I would expect a bit of bounce on the face, especially in the darker area. Even if it doesn't cast a lot of illumination itself, it has enough basic luminosity to reflect light back onto the face.
So, that's my crit. It's lovely painting! The light sourcing is really interesting.
Ahh, thanks a bunch! (I'm glad para-xylene took a liberty to tell you that: she's perfectly right!) <3
It hadn't occurred to me at all before about the lips (I was looking at all sorts of different things to fix), but you're right: flat as well! Lips were never a particular strong point for me, and I was furthermore carried away by the screenshots, in which they were completely texture-less. I'll see to it ASAP.
The eye-piece.. to be honest, it was a lazy ass job overall! Again, entered a mindless track because of the screenshot references. Grr. I hate it when I do that. It should drop some light on her face, of course. I'll see again what I can do. :)
Many, many thanks for your suggestions! It's great when people like my stuff, and I'm happy you do, too, but it's even better when I get feedback so I can improve things! It can be a little annoying because it spoils the 'yay! it's finished!' feeling by having to go back to it, but that concerns the extra work itself, not the feedback. :D

I think I've kind of upgraded my work flow. I paint smarter than I used to.
Now, to implement that to old WIPs I'm stuck with for ages and ages and...

Are are you open to concrit or would you prefer not? (Blunt as it is, I've taken to asking this, because you just never know what people want.)
I love the eyes, the hair (hair is such a pain) and the way the collar just kind of fades into the background.
