I had class with "the" Bobst boy during my last semester at NYU, and was just inspecting his livejournal.. which consequently led me to some New York Times profile article about him. In which I found this hilarious quote:

Beckman is the sleaziest spin doctor that exists. He'll excuse/defend/glorify ANYTHING that goes on at this backwards University. I don't particularly care about his calling the 'pool' kids and the 'sex' kids "smart and interesting"- but am disgusted by the fact that he uses that as a device to SKIRT THE BIGGER ISSUE-- 'Bobst Boy' wasn't just smart and interesting-- HE WAS FUCKING NEGLECTED BY NYU. THOSE FUCKING BASTARDS. I can tell you aren't as taken with Bobst Boy- but I am grateful to him for unintentionally exposing NYU for the heartless bastards they are. This was a nationally broadcast 'Shame on you.' Sadly, it had no lasting impact on NYU's operation and management of financial aid. FUCK NYU.

Gah... Yes, he went to the financial aid office to try and appeal for more money... and NYU only set him up with housing after his story made national news-- they only did it to cover up the embarassment! Please-- NYU doing something for the student body out of selfless, good will? Psh!

And guess the fuck what-- my parents aren't loaded at all- and NYU didn't give me any handouts either. As a conseuence, I am $100K in debt, cause, as a niave 18-year-old, all I wanted to do was go to my top choice school. I had no concept of how burdensome, more like SUFFOCATING, this debt would be.

Bobst Boy has my undying support.
