I think that is a totally cool idea. Would you go for the original Chicago version, or something more laid back?

Definitely the original version. That's the version I heard growing up, and it stuck, so that's what would be used. The original version kind of works as its own form of time travel because it does reflect a particular early 70's sound. But it also has a strident kind of urban vibe that also fits in the present. The lyrics are more relevant now than ever, too.
