I remember now. Once I coloured my hair in China and the stylist said

"First, I will do some tiao1 ran3 for you". Yup that's highlight! They pick some hair out (tiao1) and color (ran3)them for you. That's highlight! Then, they ran3 my whole head.

Hmm... London hairdresser is from Malaysia. New York hairdresser is from Hong Kong. Singapore hairdresser is from Singapore. She's the best because she's my neighbor!

Thank you! It's not too short. But it's summer anyway, nice to have shorter hair. It is starting to get warm and humid here. Yucks.
