R.I.P. Camera

Never put your camera on a pitcher of water. I was in a restaurant with dim lights and needed a stand for steady shots. I found the pitcher a good height and placed the camera on it. The camera fell into the water when I was taking a picture, and I could not turn it on afterwards. Montreal became less fun suddenly

Oh no! I had a similar incident with my camera - I placed it on an uneven rock to take a picture, and the wind blew it off. I was able to turn it on but the lens must have dislodged, cause all pictures I took afterwards were blurry.

I have a DSLR! I have the Nikon D50. Which one are you thinking of getting?
