I had the dude come to look at my house today. turns out I had a massive leak around the bathtub faucet. it was spraying water back into the wall and then dripping down the outside of hte wall. I beleive there is STILL a crack in the wall as well and that we had 2 seperate issues there

meh. we'll throw area rugs over it.

the important part is there's nothing permanant and spongy under us.

spongy stuff under the feet is not good - 'specially when barefoot or wearing socks. It's never pleasant being soggy. I can understand the tile idea...area rugs are easily replaced if they get wet and a lot cheaper.
