someone call 9-1-2

My mum is convinced that she is being stalked by Jerry Bruckheimer. No, really. It's like everything she watches he's involved with somehow and when she sees a show or movie that isn't produced by him she's like, "Where's my buddy, Jerry?" *sigh* She doesn't know if she should call the cops or just let this whole situation pass by. I'm hoping she' ( Read more... )

Oh, Doctor Who episodes are needed if you want to follow Jack's full plot line.

And you really should get into Doctor Who because it's wonderful.

As a John Barrowman fan, I say watch both.

You can just watch the newer version of Doctor Who (Series 1-3) and it won't take up much time at all seeing as how each series clocks in about 13 episodes a piece (plus christmas specials).

You don't really need to watch DW for Torchwood, but it does help a bit on Jack's background. There are only a few eps that you would really need to watch. The Empty Child, The Doctor Dances, Boom Town and Bad Wolf, The Parting of the Ways. Then the first Season of Torchwood and then back to DW Season 3 for Utopia, The Sound of Drums, Last of the Time Lords. Then you can start on Torchwood season 2!

Or she could just read the episode summaries at Outpost Gallifrey. If all she needs is Jack's background, it's the easiest way to do it.

Yea, but that's not as fun. Plus those are some of the best eps of Season 1 and not just because John is in them.

Oh, I agree. There are worth the watch. I only made the suggestion since she expressed no real interest in the Doctor Who aspect of the universe. It's actually pretty easy to get into TW without seeing much, if any, of DW. Unlike Angel where it's rather important you watch Buffy. I'd liken it to the Hercules/Xena deal. I hardly watched H: TLJ and I followed X: WP fine.

AHHH MY EARS ARE STILL BLEEDING!!!!! LMAO! Kidding! You can come over any time and play!

I'm so excited about French class! Tristan went to French immersion and he said he would help me with my homework if I pay him in beer and smokes! WE NEED FRENCH ICONS!

Mum+JB=TLF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We've PVR'd Terminator but have yet to watch them. Should I have seen the movies before I watch it? I saw the second one I think a long long long long long time ago but I don't remember it.

From what I understand, the TV series retconned the existence of Terminator 3, since Sarah Connor is still alive at this point in John's life. So ... watch the first two and you should be good.

I think I saw a porno like that once.

I haven't seen the first two in so long and I didn't have much of a problem following along, but I do want to rewatch them just for kicks.

Would I have to watch Dr. Who to know what's going on? Because I don't really want to get into DW

Not really. Because other than Captain Jack originating on the series, TW has hardly any connection to DW. Maybe the occasional mention of UNIT (the DW equivalent of the idiot squad, aka Torchwood), but other than that? All you need to know is Jack died at the end of series one DW, Rose brought him back to life with the power of the Universe, yet she couldn't control it so he's immortal.

Thanks, hon. :) I may watch some DW, I dunno yet. I just don't have time to watch too much right now, so I'll put these two shows on hold for a little bit.
