I just finished watching the Gilmore Girls ep where Rory graduates from Chilton. It always makes me cry and think of my own lack of a high school career. :P ( Read more... )

I really hope you get to do that course if it what you really want. Can you do it part time, so half a load it will take longer but it may mean you can work a few extra days so you and your mother can survive?

No, unfortunately it's full time. Some of their art courses have the option of doing it part time, but not this one. :( I'll just have to wait awhile.

I know in the US there are grants and scholarships you can apply for, is it the same over there? I know I let money get in the way of me going to a good school and it really sucks:( I do hope it works out because that sounds like a fantastic program!

Yeah, there are many grants and scholarships I could apply for, I'll have to look into it more closely to see how much I could get.

Thanks, hon. I'm not really worried about tution and that. Dad said he'd pay for most of my schooling. It's everything else I'm worried about (phone bills, cable, groceries, gas ect.).

The IDEA program sounds wonderful. Kind of makes me regret getting into the trouble of a BA degree.
You slave for 4 years for a BA in design, while all the while you hear how self-taught people are so successful, and how if we just took a course in Mentor we'll be hired straight off, and basically what a waste of resources Bezalel is. This from our own teachers! I guess learning design has more to do with the enjoyment of learning, studded with the occassional instance of perfecting a talent you didn't know how, than with checking all the steps on the road to a successful career. I like to study (that is, I'm afraid to work in the design field), so that's what I tell myself ( ... )

Wow, I've never heard of Mentor before. That's interesting.

Yeah, Idea is very career and design oriented. Not only do we get projects, but they also have good work skills. The teachers are in that industry or were, so they also have a lot of networking as well.
