I totally agree w/everything you've said here Bonnie especially about the Epilogue I'm curious as to know as how all the other characters were doing 19 years after.
And that scene with Harry, the stone, Lilly, James, Lupin, and Sirius - gave me the hugest lump in my throat - I thought for sure that Harry was a goner - But I'm kinda glad he lived and that Ron lived.
It makes me wonder though, she said she gave one of her characters a reprive and changed her mind about killing them off - I wonder who?

From Dateline: "JK: I made a decision as I went into writing Phoenix that I was going to reprieve Mr. Weasley and I was going to kill someone else. And if you finish the book, I-- I

And I'm so happy Ron didn't die, otherwise I would gone and flogged J.K. myself
I completely agree with that. I was totally gutted that Fred died, absolutely mortified, as the Weasley's were and always will be my favourite thing about the books and films, but Ron...I just loved him!! I would have beaten her to death with a twig if she'd killed Ron off!
Thank you. I loved it, too, and thought it was perfect, and am glad that you, at least, aren't going to send me an e-mail asking if I've gone mental because I adored the end. The end is just...it's right. It really is. You know how much they suffer, and how hard it will be (has been, by the epilogue), to rebuild, but it's okay. Life has continued and there is a semblance of peace, and most importantly, Harry has a family, and that's all he ever wanted.
Ron and Hermione made me cry from happiness. That kiss was truly great.
The Snape/Lily and Dumbledore storyline was what I always conjectured it to be, so, while it did not surprise me, it did make me feel at ease, somehow. And Snape being good, underneath all his external loathsome qualities, and being brave, too, was amazing.
The King's Cross chapter was wonderful, too. And I agree with you, Dumbledore's flaws only make me love him more.
The forest chapter killed me. I thought I'd make it without sobbing, really sobbing, but I didn't. Dobby, Fred, Tonks, and Remus (omg

Yeah, the whole Harry/Ginny thing really bugged me in the book. It didn't feel right for some reason. Maybe because they didn't get a lot of time together or maybe because Ginny was more of a Mary Sue kind of figure in this book.
In some way I wished JK would have gone deeper into the Harry/Ginny storyline, but in other ways I wished she didn't do that. I would have kinda been neat to have them just end up in the epilogue and have everyone BUH!?!?!?!
No, yeah, it just had a feeling of closure and nothing really big left hanging.
I always figured there was something with Snape and Lily. If they weren't friends then I always thought that Snape was in love with her. Some sort of unrequited love thing.
Yeah, when Harry said he was about to die that got me, but what really got me was when his mum, dad, Sirius and Lupin appeared. And then they said that death wasn't bad.
Quicker and easier than falling asleep. Also to see them happy and together.
It was kinda like that moment in ROTK when Gandalf was talking to Pippin about dying and how he said that it was just the next great adventure. First time I saw that I bawled my eyes out.
One of the things I really liked is how Harry didn't actually kill Voldemort, it was just his spell that backfired on him, so in a way the end Voldemort was his own demise, not Harry, although he did get all the Horcruxes with the help of others.

It may take a bit to sink in, but the ending was just right.
I agree. :) *love*
Also maybe something about what they do now
Harry and Ron both work in the Auror department and Hermione works in Magical Law Enforcement. JK did a thing for MSN... :)
I'm sure I'll have more to say, but it's almost 3:30 and I'm trashed.
And I'm totally toasted from the hospital. Love you!
