I find rats quite cute. It's just when they skitter around and surprise me that really freaks me out.

My cat brought me a live lizzard once and it got lost in the house. My oldest daughter finally found it and we returned it to the back yard. It was quite a crazy few days, though! They just want to show us that they love us and appreciate us and this is how they do it. They don't understand that a purr now and again does the trick.

Mmmm. Lizard.

Thankfully lizards aren't common here (in the wild).

Tinkerbell doesn't even purr. I guess she thinks this is good compensation. I know they do it as a 'present', but like you said, just something nice now and again is enough.

wow...I would've been climbing up the worktops to get away from it lol Although I had a hamster before so I guess a rat is just like a jumbo sized hamster? Probably not...

Not really. Unless the hamster you had was 7 inches long with a long tail? :P

Yikes! Poor rat, I hope it was okay. I'm so glad my cats are indoor cats and don't bring me little critters.

I think it was okay or will be ok after the trauma has worn off.

I can one-up that.
I swear that there's some sort of demon-like creature living in my parents' backyard that likes to maim and disembowel small rodents, and my puppy was more than happy to play with the leftovers while we were staying there.
First, I find him gnawing on a limb (fur and claws still attached) and FLIP THE EFF OUT when I finally see what it is. A few days later...he's walking around with a full set of INTESTINES: I'm talking multiple organs still connected somehow.
And he made me CHASE him for that one! Nasty, nasty, NASTY!
He's lucky he's so cute.

Well. That's.... special. o.O

And I thought the worst was when my dog decided to drag a dead fish around when we took him to the beach one winter. Bleh.
