Hopping on this big ol' permissions post bandwagon like I should have done when I apped in...
Joshua here is what we might call a pseudo-god. He might not look like much, but, well. Phenomenal cosmic power, itty bitty living space, if you will. As such, he has a few abilities that I've been holding off on using until I could get this permissions post up.
Primarily, he's telepathic. He can read your current thoughts, even if it's just you talking to yourself. He can try to dig a little deeper to see things you might be hiding, but it takes a bit more effort and makes it easier for the other person to realize what he's doing. He's also capable of imprinting ideas onto a person's mind, which comes off as a little burst of inspiration, like the person he's imprinting had thought of it themselves. Though, he won't use this unless he's really looking to troll, or if he has an otherwise good reason to use it.
His second big ability here is the ability to withhold bits of memories or information. Obviously, with Adstring's restrictions, he can't hold onto them for long. No more than a day at most - it takes quite a bit of energy to hold onto something like that. But he can hold back anything from the name of that one song you like to the memory of your first day at school or your first kiss. Thankfully for your characters, this is also something that he doesn't use unless he has a good reason.
THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN. I need to know what's cool and what's not! So if you could fill out this permissions post and let me know~ It's much better than pinging each one of you when I need to know if hacking your character's brain is cool. ♥
