It feels right, coming up the mountain again, even though they're not planning to stay as long this time. Geoffrey's never really been an outdoorsy sort of person, not even now when he's been on the island as long as he has, but there's still something about it that's special. When he's with Duck, anyway

"Is that you or your aching muscles talking?" Duck asks, giving Geoffrey a small push from behind. Now that he's looking, though, that does seem like the spot, which only makes Duck hurry Geoffrey along faster. The tree is particularly memorable, as are the places where the bark is worn bare.

"Not all of us work out all day, every day," Geoffrey protests, dragging himself up the seldom-used path. "Some of us are used to softer living." Once he's closer to the spot he gives a firm nod. "Yeah, this is the place. I'd know it anywhere."

"You saying I'm not working you hard enough?" Duck asks, and he must be feeling energised by the place, because he manages a slightly wicked smile even as he's catching his breath. "I could step it up a bit."

"No matter how hard you work me--" And doesn't that give Geoffrey happy little thoughts. "--it's still not going to be the same as building houses all day. But hey, I'm willing to give it a try if you are."
