Geoffrey feels a little guilty thinking he's had a rough few days, compared to what some other people are going through, but... he's had a rough few days. Maybe it's just that he's suddenly got a lot going on at once after what felt like quite a few weeks of leisure. Maybe it's that he's thinking about things he hasn't spent much time thinking

Duck wanders up to the porch a moment later, sawdust feathering his overalls, and gives Geoffrey a small smile of greeting. He passes a hand through the porch railing, resting it on Geoffrey's bare foot a moment before he swings himself up and onto the porch. "You look lost in thought," he says as he sits down.

"Wishing this drink were a little stronger," Geoffrey admits, looking inside his glass of lemonade like it might change before his eyes. "You busy out there, or do you want to keep me company for a while?"

"Yeah, well." Duck finds he doesn't know what to say to the first, so he leaves it, settling in next to Geoffrey in silence. "Rather stay here," he says after a bit, his hand on Geoffrey's back.

"Went to see Mimi last night," he says after a few moments, enjoying the silent comfort. He's all right, but the whole thing has left him unsettled and introspective and last night, when they'd gone to bed, he just hadn't really known what to say about it. "In the clinic."
