Types of Poetry

I was thinking a bit last night about the type of poetry I like, largely due to the fact that I read "What It Is Like Inside the Sun", which is a poem that I wrote as a sort of goof when I was trying to think of longer poems I could use in the slam, which actually wasn't last night, and got a very positive response. Comedy has more to do with performance than it does with writing. And I think slam is about performance, so the delivery and the timing should count for something. But that's just me.

I'm with you on the serious to comedy inverse these days, but if I go too long without writing something funny I get a bit down and need to let loose.

I would totally come see you play/read but alas Thursday is one of the three days that I actually work during the week.
I like humorous poems but I agree with you that they feel more like an exercise. Then again I like Rudyard Kipling, so I really shouldn't be allowed to have opinions on such things :P
