this is a very hot topic for me to tackle. In one light I completely agree with you. but in the other i have absolutely positively no right to place judgment on woman who choose to have breast implants, or in some way transform their bodies into the image they find beautiful. Why? well, for the same reason I would think you should-- heavily tattooed, pierced, and stretched. In the grand scheme of things there is absolutely no difference between me having my ears stretched, you having tattoos, and the mother in that book having breast implants and the likes

it's very insightful, but i think there's a big difference in the cause behind the kind of body modifications we experience
