Snagged from meathiel, who got it from ganimede. I'm not comitting to filling the bingo card, but I'm hoping to do at least one line on it! Feel free to copy and join in if you wish.

If this is lifetime, I have the whole card filled. If I have to start now, probably won't happen. ;)

Yeah, if it was lifetime I think I'd have much of it covered, but no, it's this year - which is why I'm not committing to the whole thing!!

I read so many books in general that I'd probably cover most of those squares except a book written in the first person. I avoid books written in the first person, they annoy me.

I'm currently reading another Doreen Tovey book, thanks for putting me onto her:)

I actually don't mind first person. Most of the historical detective books I read and, of course, biographies are written first person. I also enjoy third person narratives too. Though in fanfic, first person can be difficult to get on with sometimes, and I've no idea why that is, when it doesn't phase me in books! But we all differ in preferences, hence why there's so many different styles and types of books!

Glad you're enjoying Doreent Tovey! Her cats are ever so slightly mad! :D

EDIT: Erm, Doreen Tovey writes in first person. Just googled it. First person is 'I thought this, did that' and third is 'Leesa thought this, did that', and Doreen definitely writes 'I' not 'Doreen'.

Yes Doreen Tovey does write in the first person but her books are memoirs about her life with her cats so they have to be written in the first person.
I don't like fictional novels written in the first person, generally they put my teeth on edge.

Ah, right. Sorry, I thought from your comment that you didn't like any first person books and so would struggle to fill that square, but seeing as the bingo is about 'books' and not 'novels', you would be able to fill it! For me, I have loads of books in first person (as I tend to read memoirs mainly), and am hoping that some of the historical detective books I'll read this year will be in third person.

You probably wouldn't enjoy the books I'm reading atm, even if into historical detective, as it's first person. But it's not bothering me - in fact, the main character is a bit of a cantankerous fellow at times and so being first person makes that work even better!! He does make me laugh, especially when talking about his students (he's a lecturer at a Dutch university in the 1600s)! :D
