Annual Book Count for 2020

Jan 01, 2021 22:23

So in 2020 I read 78 books that I finished and 8 books that I didn't finish for various reasons. All of this doesn't include any Bible or fanfic reading. Some of the books were novella length and some bigger than normal and I have indicated this in the list below.

Previous years: 2019 - 76 finished, 8 not finished ( Read more... )

You didn't finish Lost Cat: A true story of love, desperation and GPS technology?

As much as it peeves me when people let their cats roam I love that book. I love the hand drawn illustrations of the cats and the emotions attributed to said cats.
I've lent it to a few cat lovers and have always stressed that I want it returned.

It's such a short book for you not to have finished, it's more a picture book than a novel. I'm pretty much amazed that you didn't like the book even enough to finish it.

This is a tricky one for me. As a Christian I'm open to the attack that it was because they were a same sex couple, but that's NOT the reason - I was happy to read it, unlike some of my faith. But when she went to a pyschic, I couldn't continue. That's a line I just can't cross, and has thrown me out of other books before now.

I've read a lot as well, but I didn't get close to your numbers.

Very impressive.

Thanks! I'm rather amazed at the number!! Maybe hubby needs to come to bed earlier?!! I'm sure if I was living alone, that number would be higher and I'd be a lot more tired due to late nights!! Just one more chapter...

Have you read CB Poultney? At least the dog books such as Scotch Dhu. He wrote little pieces about his dogs (and Patrick the cat) in the 1930s.

'Scoth Dhu' is over £15, the other books I came across were around the £50 plus mark (on Amazon), with at least one being over £700!! Some are cheaper on eBay, but still over my price point :(

I will make a note of the author and check from time to time, because they do look interesting.

Sorry, I didn't realise they were that expensive. If you can get it cheap, or through interloan, I think you'll like it.

I'm always surprised at how much some older books can cost!
