Today's theme is 'Orange', so here's an orange on a metal draining board! I did do a little bit of work on this, so here's the original photo for those who are interested.

Oh yum - we had orange slices with dinner and they were delicious.

Oranges are very delicious, though I prefer the smaller ones like satsumas and the like - and the easy peel ones at that! Lazy? Me?! Never, lol! :D :D

Changing the background really made the orange look more vivid. Smart move!

Thanks! I wanted to make the orange pop, but a b/w background seemed uninspiring! :D

I like the blurred effect and how you darkened the draining board amd enhanced the tones to make the orange pop but I prefer the sharpness of the original. I'm glad you're posting both versions.

Thanks! Yeah, maybe a little more blurred than needed. I was using quick edits on PSE, but I did a course on PS (the susbscription version) this week and signed up, so would probably manage this without losing the sharpness now! :D

I’ve pondered in doing a course too. I know I don’t use the package I have to it’s full potential. Where did you do the course?

I did my course at Creative Studios based in Derby. A long way for you to travel for a two day course, but there's on online version you could try. The instructor, Mark, is very good. https://www.creativestudiosderby.co.uk/

Probably best to google somewhere more local, but expect to pay around £300-350 for a two-day course. The online options tend to be cheaper, but I prefer having an instructor to hand if possible!

Adobe also have tutorials for free:
