This scene in particular always makes me think of Lee's lack of reaction when he learned of Kara's role in Zak's death. At the time of her confession, of course, he hadn't even a second to process what she was telling him, but later, I always wondered what he thought. It seems like he accepted it and let it go. I sure would have loved to hear a conversation about it, though. #greedyforpilotmoments
it's interesting that he assumed she had opened up with his father at some point
I think he actually did not make that assumption initially, which is equally interesting. He looks very surprised when Bill tells him that he and Kara have talked about what happened to Zak. Lee says something like: "You...you have?" And Bill affirms that yes, they have talked about it, and tells him that he and Kara are very close. So Lee takes his word for it that they have worked through all this already, and assumes that *he* was the one that had been left out of the loop. He is clearly surprised by this, but accepts it quickly and gets back to the point at hand about the pilot training.
But of course he realizes very quickly after making an oblique reference to the real secret that Bill doesn't know it after all, and you can see the look of realization on his face, followed instantly by a sort of "of course, I should have known" expression. Of course Kara wouldn't have opened up to Bill about Zak, she would have buried it deep. Lee knows
( ... )
You are right, of course. I had forgotten that. However, in an attempt to stand by the essence of my original point , I coudl maybe say he misunderstood Bill , assuming Kara had indeed told him about Zak a little too quickly? LOL. That is a stretch, I know. :)
Anyway, I love that Lee is the only person she willingly told the truth. I love the idea that , despite their many misunderstandings and all the things they never said, when push comes to shove, Lee is the person Kara reveals more of herself to, and vice-versa.
It is also so cute to see his reaction when he realizes he has said more than he should. And I really think Adama wouldn't have forgiven Kara so easily without the moon crash incident.
