Thank you! I'm so, so happy to hear it felt in character for Lee. Something about that boy puts me in a very cerebral mood. :)

I am in tears.

Oh honey - what a fic. Wow. *takes a deep breath* I absolutely love this, so much for what it shows about humanity of the cylons as what it shows us for humans as well. There are many fics that scratch the surface of PTSD post-New Caprica, but I've never read one quite like this, which shows me exactly how one might experience it. There are so many things that just shout at me. Lee's voice is real and grief-stricken and confused. Kara, always just beyond his reach, is a joy to read, even in her anger. And your version of Lida just makes me cry. She has that aching vulnerability and genuine need to love that makes her all the more human for her cylon nature. WOW!

This image of the lake, in particular, sang to me:

He dreams of rocks along the floor of the lake, moving under his feet. He starts to breathe underwater. He didn't realize he was wearing his helmet. There are torn pieces of newspaper lining the ground that are too blurry to see, and a voice reads it for him ( ... )

*BEAMS*

I was so overwhelmed by this! Thank you, it's weird to be like "wow I'm glad it made you cry" but that's really touching and means a lot to me. :) I think I weirdly fell in love with Lida writing this (as much as I wasn't already - she's a Six, after all *g*) so yay that you were able to feel for her too. I'm also glad you were satisfied with the ending, since Kara's fate itself is controversial but it seemed right for them to go together.

Nicole - I am SO in love with this fic, and I completely adore stories that makes me cry. (I've written many myself). Angst is so good and the grief here was REAL! I totally approve, and I felt such a relief that Lee went with Kara. *happy sigh* Loved this. Again. Thank you!

Wow! I wound up feeling for all of them, and it gave me a perspective and thought that I hadn't had before about NC. Having Lida in the equation gives you and idea that the Cylons are in a way on their own collision course with destiny that they, themselves, have little control over their own heading and are being carried on the crest of the wave of their own consequences.

The ending was fascinating though. Definitely giving me enough to think about. And maybe even write meta (I never do that, ever!)

Wow, this is really, really good. I almost didn't read it, what with dubcon being my major squick, but I figured I could give the Lee/Lida scenario a shot and once I started, I just couldn't stop reading. There are many things I could be praising, but one thing that really stuck out was how Lee ended up with this huge trigger on all things pregnancy and babies and sons, and how it left him incapable of embracing any of the things that could have helped him fit back in afterwards. Like Adama finally manages to say what would have been the right thing at the right time, finding something that absolutely should have created a connection in any other situation, but it just pushed him further apart. His connection with Kara remains equally distant, like they both have forgotten how to be close and that's what keeps them in tandem, apart but sort of moving on parallel lines. It's just a very remarkable story. The ending worked perfectly.

Aaaah I love this comment, I don't know what to say. Thank you. <3 Obviously I'm glad you did decide to read it. And yeah, I felt like an especially cruel person for giving Lee a trauma that so specifically made it harder to connect to his own family in the aftermath, and kind of kills that otherwise nice moment with Adama.

And thank you for saying the ending worked for you! I was pretty deep into writing it before I had decided how it would end, and once it hit me that seemed like the only way and I just hoped it would go over well.
