I did not watch election coverage. At all. Did not want to hear that Ohio's POS secretary of state had succeeded as Blackwell did in 2004. I honestly expected that the GOPsters would manage to sabotage the election

I agree--it was a fantastic night for liberals! And women! And LGBT folks. And a start, hopefully, in ending the useless war on drugs.
I've followed every major political event of this election on TV while also on Twitter--made the whole thing so much more fun! Comedians, pundits, Barack Obama For America--full of information, intellect and wit. Sometimes wonderfully scathing wit.

My local races came out satisfyingly, too. Including keeping the state senator who was half of the first same-sex couple to marry in CT -- her wife teaches history at my kid's high school. :)
Yeah. Didn't realize how tense I was until the "stand-down-from-red-alert" set in. Whew - no fear of nut-bar appointments to the Supreme Court for the next few years.
