I'm eagerly anticipating living in the northern hemisphere - winters that are actually cold, deciduous trees, and summers that don't last eight months of the year. As you can probably tell, I'm not very fond of hot weather. Beware, the summers here CAN be very hot and humid, even in NY - you might want to go up to the mountains for summer, OR by the sea-coast.

I SO can't wait until you guys get here. We'll have to set aside some time to get together - Peter's mother lives in Albany, which isn't far from NYC.

When we were in NYC in September, it was extremely hot and humid! It was actually cooler when we got back to Brisbane :P I think I will definitely take your advice and get out of the city during summer (or, at least during the weekends!).
I can't wait to see you too! And it's lucky that we're moving (sort of) nearby, and not to the other side of the country.

Yeah, September was not as bad up here, but still pretty hot. Made haying all that much more fun. Blergh.

But there's boardwalks and beaches near NYC, and you can go up the Hudson, see some pretty things and in 2 hours, you can be in the Adirondack mountains. It's something you'd like, trust me. Like a little slice of the Alps in NY.

I KNOW! There are so many things I'd love to show you about this great state - the taxes may suck, but it's a gorgeous state - maybe you can even be here in time for the great NY State Fair in Syracuse - that's an event you HAVE to see to believe.
