Ohh, now there's something I hadn't thought of. I'd been reading over Homer and making lovely historical parallels in my head but it isn't really K/L conducive...

*idea blinks* or maybe it is.

Like I don't have enough to think about! *G* Okay. Here's a bunny for you - hot!pilots seperated by distance and thinking about each other, hopefully without the despairing overtones we got post KLG. I keep hearing GooGoo Dolls "Iris" as a soundtrack. Think you can work with that? I think we could all use some K/L fluffyish stuff, or I could, anyway!

Best of luck on the moving in together thing - that sounds exciting.

well, for me it is! heh. I am not discussing this with friends and family close to home yet - I don't want it to be an issue for discussion and considering certain family members have been 'pushing' for this to happen for a while, I'd rather not have to deal with the resulting excitement. Besides, A. is not here for another 8 months, so things could change.

But I just had to tell someone =) *hugs the flist*

on the personal front: congratulations! Having been through a two-year, three-continent long-distance thing, I can say that the waiting *does* eventually end, and it is worth it!

Your WIP notebook is fascinating. (And inspiring, because I feel bad if I have only one thing in the wings, as if stories all showed up full-fledged.) Even though I'm a rabid K/L shipper, the two Sharon fics sound interesting. I don't care for Grace Park so I keep hoping that fic will give me insight into the Sharon character. Oh, and I can't wait to see what you do with the Katie RPF!

Smokescreen Cabaret is intriguing... Don't know if you mean the title literally, but maybe seeing some noir-ish movies will help create the mood? A painter friend of mine likens it to to creative "porn" - when he's ready to work but without inspiration he looks through his magazines, or watches a show on art... (well, I thought it was an amusing simile, anyway :0))

looking forward to more Leda fic!

I've always wondered about Sharon and Kara's relationship, and their link through Helo post the cylon revelations made me write a fic that got a lot of praise - "Counterpoint". Funnily enough, it's one of the fics on this journal that never seemed to be read or commented upon. But hopefully any new stories will get a little more exposure.

WIP's will be complete in my journal before I post 'em anywhere else, so if you don't mind the wait between chapters, you'll be able to find these things here soon enough. The Katie will probably go to the RPF comm though.

SC wasn't really meant to be noir'ish - the show doesn't have the langour or luxury of good noir - but there's an intriguing thought all the same. It wasn't intended to be smut though not in any of the sections... we'll see.

And yes, I'm sure the waiting will pay off. It's just that... I hate waiting. Really, really hate it, heh! Thank you, though =)

well, there's no accounting for taste! *G* Sharon's an intriguing character, and I can't blame people for being fond of her. But she's ambiguous about her loyalties and I think that's what bothers me the most.

I just feel that of all the characters Sharon has the clearest loyalties out of everybody, well maybe everybody except Helo. Sharon is loyal to Helo and her daughter. If she had any other loyalties she wouldn't be where she is. If all she wanted to do was survive or keep the baby safe, she could have very easly stayed on Capricia and still be running from the Cylons or still be following the Cylon plan and be living in a Cabin with Helo. Plus with all the Cylon onky scenes and PODcast info its pretty clear that Sharon is operating on her own.

I think Grace Park said it best when she was asked about the realtionship/love between Sharon and Helo, she said that their love was "unstoppable and precious"

Your best friend and you figuring out what you both want: this is wonderful news! It's great that 2006 is starting out this way for you.

That list of WIPs is extremely tempting. I'm looking forward to you finishing Eris and Aurora and your Five futures series.

jaded, less-than-optimistic shipperhood.
I'm just a reader, so I'm counting on all the fics that will make me feel better about these new developments. Sigh. I have no particular ideas, but it looks like you have enough work on your hands. ;)
