Well, considering how long he's had to look after himself, I'm sure he knows how to cook something. Just probably not cakes. Pasta, sure. Chicken? Perhaps. Cakes? Doubtful, unless he's a cake-aholic.

Oh, you don't know what all Rimmer's been up to. ;-) Besides, we figure he'd have been good at it as a younger man or a boy - it's an activity to hide or do while the parentals are out of the house.
