I really liked this. I've been wanting a story like this for awhile, and yours definitely scratched the itch. I particularly liked this line:

It had been so long since he’s taken care of his brother . . . a year and forty more.

I forget about Dean's time in hell and how it actually would have felt to him. No wonder the poor guy is tired. This was wonderfully phrased. Almost lyrical. You made me ache for both boys.

This is the Dean that I want back. Someone who loves his brother almost unconditionally no matter what he's done. Hopefully we will all be seeing this Dean soon on the Show.
