These two pieces are really gorgeous (this and part 1 of course). I love these snapshots of John the father. I love especially the Sammy gets appendicitis one, because I can well imagine how it'd feel to John for Sam to need him again, in the midst of all that teenage rebellion - to be able to take care of Sam without Sam trying to shove him off or fight with him. Very nicely done.
