Almost a drabble -- Here Comes the Sun

Feb 01, 2009 05:26

“Hey,” John’s head popped in through her office door. “Come.”

Frowning, she pointed wordlessly to the laptop and data pad in front of her. Work, obviously. He couldn’t expect her to just drop everything and go running every time he felt like it.

“Come on!” he laughed, taking a few steps inside the office. “Like that will go anywhere. Take five. I ( Read more... )

Now that's definitely more like drabble :) You know I have a soft spot for this universe, so thank you for cheating. I love Teyla's observation at the end - no doubt the change would be evident.

Also, I love how you described John standing in the rain. There's something very tender in that description.

Thanks. I think it was still too long to really qualify as a drabble, but it's closer to it than 2500 words :)

I'm starting to think that maybe finishing ABR is not quite outside the realm of possibility. I'm thinking it would need another 5, maybe 6, chapters to get it where I initially planned it...

Ooooo, I like the icon. You watched Vegas, yes?

I would love if you finished ABR - I dearlky hope it's not impossible - 5 more chapters of that beauty? *sigh* Please, please, PLEASE!

No, haven't gotten around to that, yet. But I fancied me some icons where John wouldn't be in a uniform/black t-shirt, so I grabbed some caps and made me some.

Before I can really get to ABR, I have to finish that other fic of mine, the one with the first chapter you got to read. Otherwise the two might start stealing from each other.

*happy*
That was just the bit of fluff I needed. Excellent.
And I really like the ending, because I could see that happening with them, John being calmer and Elizabeth learning to let go of things. Very nice! ♥

It's nice to see that there still is a market niche for fluff :)

Thanks!

Fluff? Are you kidding? I wish I could write that stuff! All I can do these days is incredibly sad (not quality - wise, I hope).

Nah, the sadder, more introspective stuff is my bread and butter. And, to be honest, after all that I even feel somewhat flaky posting this kind of fluff...

But, I guess some fluff never hurts. The writer or the reader.

Ok, off to work...

Yup, that's what I am gearing up to -- writing tons of John-drabbles for the thing. It is quite an interesting exercise -- getting myself to shut up :)

It's nice to see that everyone, including you, is picking up on the two scenes that I intended to make up the mood of this drabble. It shows that I can actually write it short and get my point across...

I have to say, though, I miss your Sparky stuff...

lol, yeah, I kow te feeling.. though I blame the protagonists.. my argument being that if it was *me*, then my s/j would also be lng....

..I want to get into this drabbl thing. even started one.. but I don't think it *says* anything... sigh. I'm trying.. really I am... meep. feed me and maybe it'll help? ;D

You think it necessarily has to *say* anything? I'd be happy to read it even if it was a random snapshot...

And, for the record, I have every intention of writing some drabbles for the thing that say absolutely nothing except "this prompt brought this image to my mind" :)

Heh, thanks. I think that is the best kind of a compliment a story like that can get :)
