No, I'm pretty sure the shittiest thing ever said to Merril is said by Anders, although I've heard Fenris might say something along similar lines if you have him along instead. Did you have one of them with you to finish Merrill's mirror quest when she goes to face down the demon and finds the Keeper instead?
Also I've come to the conclusion that Fenris and Anders are both similar assholes, just on different extremes. Idiots. XD AND I WISH YOU COULD ROMANCE VARRIC. He has the best flirty lines. My Hawke would happily be in love with him. XD
I know I had Fenris with me at the time, and he said some pretty terrible things. It was just that one stuck out to me because I feel like, while what he said after the mirror thing was dickish, Merrill did need a pretty big wake up call. This was said before he knew she was even a practitioner of blood magic.
I appreciate both their characters in ways, even Anders after I got over the initial shock, but neither of them are even close to nice guys. The difference is that Fenris doesn't pretend to be any kind of moral crusader. Anders acts like he's this champion for mage rights and ends up setting them all back and causing this huge struggle.
After the Keeper died and Merrill was breaking down crying over her body, Anders was glaring at her and said the Keeper was the most selfless person in the world and Merrill should have died instead of her. My Hawke wanted to turn around and stab him right there.
Oh my god! That WAS pretty bitchy oF Fenris. He said that on my recent playthrough, and I kind of didn't even notice because my character is busy being a bastard on purpose, and he's mean to everyone.
