I suspect you could fit you and metame into my red satin corset, or I'd lend it to you happily. I am just about to put a favourite red satin shirt back into storage - I'm sorting out summer/winter/hopelessly too small/outdated clothing at the moment - so if a size 14 wouldn't swamp you you're welcome to that.

It might be a bit big but if I manage to get things to go with it TM then a red shirt might mean I don't need red other things.
I seem to be borrowing things off you at the moment :-) Thank you and do mention if you think there's anything we can help you with.

Occasional in-situ lending of kittehs will do. :)

Red shirt going for a quick wash in the morning (it smells of attic, nothing worse) and if it's as sunny tomorrow as it was today, should dry quickly. I can drop it by in the evening.

I think you'd make a lovely tomato.

Thanks. I'm terribly fond of you too.
Actually the tomato and ketchup have apparently been popular amongst female volunteers voicing concerns about the lengths of the skirts.
Apparently being a tomato is preferable to actually pointing out there is something wrong with the costume range.

And there was me thinking you'd welcome the opportunity to dress up as something plant-based :)

Does it have to be red red, or would burgundy do? Choose whichever of lanfykins' bridesmaids was closest to you in shape n years ago, borrow the dress, and go as some sort of generic historial person?

Alternatively, call Frances. She won't be reading this, but I bet she'd be full of good ideas (and possibly even have items to lend).

Maybe should've just gone for one of the men's costumes?

The trouble with all the halfway decent costume ideas I can think of is that they'd be moderately expensive and possibly hard to acquire at short notice. (eg. Spanish Inquisition)

It is a possible last resort but I'd have to get a man's smallish size and hope it got round hips and bust and the like. We don't get to try these on in advance so finding my own alternative is probably actually easier...

Oh, great - so as well as sucking to be a woman it sucks to be short, tall, fat, thin or basically anything other than a 5'10" male with average proportions.

I seem to remember that Felix once painted himself in red food colouring...

Of course, one has to consider whether following Felix's example is ever a good idea :)

I think my sister is still disturbed by meeting Felix for the first time dressed in that outfit.

Also if I recall correctly I think that particular costume of red shorts and horns + food colouring might not meet Leathellin's wish to be less revealing...

I have a lovely, though perhaps faded, red fez you can borrow.
