Books of 2009

Okay, so I didn't read a lot of new YA/MG releases.  There was a TON of Debs books I didn't get to because of scheduling, other reviews I promised to do, judging, critiquing, and, um, yeah...the whole deteriorating eyesight issue.

I did read 71 books last year.  Only 16 of them were 2009 YA/MG releases.

The top 5 books of 2009:

ICON LOVE.

And I couldn't have included ELS if you hadn't worked so hard on it. SO THANK YOU for making 2009 rock, reading-wise.

PtD cover art has me all swoony. I'm thinking about rereading ELS as my third book in the readathon this weekend. *hops*

Ooh, I loved EYES LIKE STARS and BEFORE, AFTER, AND SOMEBODY IN BETWEEN! (Especially the last one. I made the mistake of reading it on Christmas in 2008 and cried.) There are also so many other books you listed that I've been wanting to read, but I just haven't been able to get my hands on them!

Oh, no! But I totally understand! I connected to Martha SO well, even though my life was nothing like hers. It was amazing.

What books would you suggest I read this year?

Oh, I'm so bad at recommending books. I like too many! I'm currently loving Robin Wasserman's SKINNED trilogy, though (only the first two books are out so far), as well as Jennifer Lynn Barnes' hilarious THE SQUAD series. And I can't recommend Carrie Jones' books enough -- I haven't had a chance to read them all yet, but I'm sure they're all equally awesome, because Carrie Jones is the Queen of Quirk!

Hmm...I seem to have a YA addicition. XD

Both of my books made your list?!? Squee! I love you!

And "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" is one of my all-time, ALL-TIME FAVORITES. :)

Only because both books were REALLY FREAKING GOOD. But BEFORE was so much more intense to me. I am a total fangirl, you'll have to excuse me. ;-)
