When they found her, John feared it was too late.
He still dreams about that too.
...
She gets this look in her eyes sometimes, when she thinks nobody is watching. This look that says she’s not quite sure if all of this is real. That she’s back in Atlantis.
He knows she dreams. Dreams of times when they saved her, but it all turned out to be an illusion. He curses himself for not finding her sooner. For not looking for her.
Those two bits were probably my favorite. I like that you didn't just focus on Elizabeth's point of view, but you also deal with John's guilt about everything. This was so cohesive and lovely and the theme of smiles throughout was a nice touch and yes. Lovely.
