He stands in the doorway a long moment, bemused but mostly at himself. "Are you interested in that?" he finally asks.

"Uh... well, you put bait on the hook, dangle that in the water, and when the fish tries to take away the bait the rod bobs and you can jerk it back and hook the fish." If you're quick and the fish isn't quicker, that is.

Nellas is illiterate and not inside very often, so she is not going to be able to respond to the note, but typist willing she is going to be on the porch when Armand returns, with a handful of worms from the can that she studies curiously.

"What are they for?" she asks when she notices steps are approaching.

Armand, who was just coming out to make sure his supplies hadn't wandered away, startles. "They are bait for the fish."

"I don't see any fish." She looks like she does not understand - and does not, to be honest.

"The fish are in the lake. Do you want to come with me?"
