So I just spent two hours writing out a series of questions and concerns that I had concerning the reading for the ethics of well-being component of the comprehensive exam. I then proceded to e-mail them to the professor and forgot to send a copy to myself!!! In other words, i just wasted two hours of my life and a significant amount of mental ( Read more... )

there's also the "answers to all the fundamental questions of the human condition folder." you should check that one out too!

Okay, so I opened the folder and all it says is "Humanure."

if you haven't got your computer set to automatically save you a copy of your sent -- do you have a program that can find "lost" documents?

if you don't can't use either of those options, email the professor and ask him to please forward the email you sent to him back to you [if he forwards it back to you rather than sending it back by hitting reply you won't have to deal with all those horrible little carat marks >>>>>>>>>>>>

and set your computer so that it does automatically save a copy of your "sent" mail & get yourself a nice program like Norton SystemWorks that will protect your computer as well as find lost documents

you do know that on computers it really is true that "nothing vanishes without a trace"

ummm, yeah. I'm stupid. Thanks for the tip!

In my mail client, right there below the "Outbox" is a clearly marked "Sent" box. Clicking on it, I see every e-mail I've sent since I bought the Mac.

Awesomeness! I somehow feel that my stupidity in that arena makes me feel less stupid about the other thing. I suppose my life can be seen as an exemplar of the Law of Conservation of Stupidity. :-)

to be stupid

you certainly don't fit the definition of that word

the nerdiest computer geek had to learn how to use a computer

methods for doing so include:
trial & error
getting someone to give you a tour and/or answer your questions

one of the best words to click on a computer screen is "Help"

I stand corrected... leafofgrass May 18 2005, 00:25:32 UTC
but the "Law of Conservation of Ignorance" sounds so much less captivating! ;-)

Oh, I tried to upload photos to that site, but I scanned them in too large. *sigh* I need to make then about 5MB each when I scanned them in at 55MB. I'm working on it. Hopefully I'll make some headway tomorrow, but these damn comps are killing me! I did take a look at you stuff, though, and was very impressed!
