Many people, as children, grow up collecting baseball cards (or hockey cards, here in Canada) - I too was one of these. I spent the money, found some pretty "cool" cards sometimes, and like many of my compatriots, hoarded these cards away someplace because either we "want them to go up in value"  or because we want to "save them for our kids", or ( Read more... )

It seems like you made peace with it. And new DVD's are always good!

My dad still has his collections of hockey and baseball cards and is quite unwilling to part with them. The same goes for his record collection... there are hundreds of records sitting in the basement. He loves them too much to get rid of them.

Yeah, I sympathise with your dad. His advantage is that he'd probably actually MAKE money on his cards were he to ever sell them lol.

Possibly! The problem is getting him to do it. I'm going to end up inheriting all this stuff and then having tremendous guilt over wanting to sell it off. So I probably won't. LOL

If you'd prefer, I can take them off your hands, sell them for you, and take 20% as a finder's fee (that and saving your conscience lol).
